Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson The book is about a boy called Jess who did not have many friends until he became friends with the new girl in his class called Leslie who happened to live a few miles away.They became best friends quickly and created an imaginary forest called "Terabithia" where they built a tree-house and played everyday after school,and went to church together every Sunday even though Leslie never goes to church.Everybody always stared when they walked by,but that was not because they were mean or anything they were just different but they had a lot in common. Meanwhile Jess is fighting and training to be the best and fastest runner in his class until Leslie came along.So everyday they would race to the river,and swing over with the old rope swing someone had left hanging for children to play.One day Jess is told that Leslie had gone to the forest alone and the rope swing had broken.She had hit her head and died,and Jess had lost his only friend and suddenly everything was different.
